Employee Benefits have been and will remain a necessity

By gatewaylegacy

Employee benefits have played a crucial role in the COVID-19 pandemic and continue to be valuable for attracting and retaining top talent. Initially, benefit plans were utilized to support COVID-19 efforts, including covering testing and treatment costs, while flexible spending accounts and health savings accounts helped with purchasing personal protective equipment (PPE). However, layoffs and furloughs resulted in wage cuts, benefit suspensions, and plan terminations.

During the Great Resignation in 2021, employees cited inadequate benefits as a major reason for leaving jobs, prompting employers to reinstate benefits and evaluate their compensation packages.

Then in 2022, employers focused on offering innovative benefits such as flexible schedules, mental wellness, and education assistance to attract talent.

So where are we in 2023? Employers are currently prioritizing cost-saving healthcare measures, terminating pension plans, providing executive benefits, and tailoring retirement plans to meet employee needs.

It can be helpful to have reliable consultants and advisors to simplify the benefits process and provide assistance with any legal changes.
